Baseball in Cancun – Quintana Roo Tigers

Though MLB may be prepping next week for the 2010 All Star game in Anaheim, which marks the half-way point of the season, the Quintana Roo Tigers season is coming to a close. The last game is to be played in July.

For those who don’t know, the Quintana Roo Tigers have a great tradition of Mexican baseball. They played they’re inaugural game as a club in 1955 and have prestigiously won nine championships since then. Today, they play in Southern Division (Zona Sur). In 2006, the team relocated to Cancun and became the Quintana Roo Tigers. They play baseball in Cancun at Beto Avila Stadium.
